U.S. Naval Sea Cadets - EISENHOWER SQUADRON

COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE!

Eisenhower Squadron History

The USNSCC, Eisenhower Squadron, is located at the U.S. Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB), New Orleans located in Belle Chasse, LA.  Each cadet is tested to meet the physical and academic challenges that the Corps presents.

Academics are comprised of taking U.S. Navy Non-Resident Correspondence Courses as if you were already an enlisted member of the  U.S. Navy.  As the cadets progress through the correspondence courses,  they are provided classroom and practical experiences to enhance their learning experience.

Successfully completing our program leads to advancement in paygrades if you decide to join the Armed Forces or scholarship opportunities for college.  In 2004, the U.S. Naval Academy Cadet Brigade was comprised of 10% former Naval Sea Cadets.   The USNSCC has placed more Naval Academy cadets than any other youth organization in the U.S.

The Eisenhower Squadron focuses its training in the aviation field and meets one weekend a month called "drills."  All uniforms are obtained by our surplus depot which affords a significant savings to cadets.  We will exhaust all efforts to secure needed uniform items via our surplus depot and in the unlikely event that we cannot, it becomes the responsibility of the parent(s) to purchase the necessary items from the Navy Exchange.  If uniforms
cannot be obtained by our surplus depot, necessary uniform items can be purchased at the Navy Exchange which you will be allowed to gain access to purchase the necessary items.

This program is NOT for everyone. Those who join thinking it's playing "dress-ups" in sailor suits, or join to lose weight, or join because they're forced into it by parents or others, generally don't stay long. For those who want to learn the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, and about Navy life, and want some discipline in their life, this is an excellent program. The training opportunities for Sea Cadets are tremendous and are listed under "Test Your Limits".  Check it out - you'll be amazed!
